Prof. Olatunji Alao Abiodun

Olatunji Alao ABIODUN is a Professor of Psychiatry in the Department of Behavioural Sciences, College of Health Sciences, University of Ilorin, Ilorin, Nigeria. He has extensive experience spanning over three decades in university teaching, research, clinical, administrative, and community services.

Prof. Abiodun served as Head of the Department on several occasions. He also served in other capacities including member of the Senate Estimates Committee; Senate representative on Board of Post-graduate School; Senate representative, Junior Staff Appointments and Promotions Committee, etc.

Professor Abiodun was a member of the National Committee on the Development of Mental Health Curriculum for primary health care workers in Nigeria.

His research interest is in the area of community and primary care Psychiatry. He has over seventy high-quality publications in reputable local, national, and international journals.

Prof. Abiodun has successfully supervised over twenty fellows of the National and West African Post-graduate Medical Colleges. He has also won a number of awards and grants. He is a member of many professional organizations within and outside Nigeria.
