Department of Behavioural Science
Abdullahi Dasliva Yussuf is a Professor of Psychiatry in the Department of Behavioural Science, Faculty of Clinical Sciences, University of Ilorin, and an Honorary Consultant Psychiatrist. He is a former Chief Medical Director/Chief Executive Officer of the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital, having completed his tenure in 2026. He was Chairman of the Faculty of Psychiatry, National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria. He has also served as Coordinator of the Medical Education Resource Unit, Head of Department, and Sub-Dean of the Faculty of Clinical Sciences, and has been a member of the University Senate. His research interests cover occupational mental health, stress-related psychiatric disorders, and forensic psychiatry. He has over sixty publications in reputable journals, edited conference proceedings, and book chapters. He has successfully supervised several Fellowship candidates and has won a number of research grants. Professor Yussuf is a member of many professional bodies within and outside Nigeria.
