Baba Awoye ISSA, Fellow of the West African College of Physicians, is a Professor in the Department of Behavioural Sciences, Faculty of Clinical Sciences, University of Ilorin with about 20 years Services as a University Teacher.
He has served as Head of Department, College COBES Coordinator, Chairman of Faculty of Clinical Sciences Ethical Committee and member of different Committee in the College and University. His areas of research interest include General Psychiatry, Behavioural Sciences, Epidemiology and Substance Use and Disorders.
He has published in reputable national and international journals. He has successfully supervised about twelve dissertations leading to the award of Fellowship of the National and West African Postgraduate Medical Colleges. I have served as Internal Examiners for some PhD theses.
He bagged the Doctor of Medicine (MD) Degree of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria in 2021 and a Master of Public Health and Master of Public Administration in 2008 and 2021 respectively.
Prof. Baba Awoye Issa was appointed as the pioneer Medical Director of the Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital Budo-Egba, Kwara State Nigeria in January 2022.
